I have been working in healthcare since 2013 as a registered nurse and family nurse practitioner, with the majority of my experience rooted in emergency room care. This background has shaped my ability to remain calm in high-stress situations, listen deeply, and meet people where they are without judgment. In therapy, I strive to provide a welcoming, unbiased, and safe space where you can simply be – while feeling heard, supported, and respected. We take life one step at a time, one day at a time.
I earned my first master’s degree in nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2019 from Texas Woman’s University in Houston and worked in an outpatient clinic within a large hospital organization, managing acute and chronic concerns. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I felt called to deepen my work in mental and emotional healing. This led me to return to school in 2021, and in 2023 I completed my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Houston – Victoria.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and strengths-based. I draw from several evidence-based modalities, primarily solution-focused therapy, reality/choice therapy, and positive psychology. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) as of March 2024 and offer ART sessions both in person and virtually.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy cooking and creating new vegetarian and vegan recipes with my husband, thrifting, spending time with my dogs, playing on my Nintendo Switch, being outdoors, and embracing quiet, cozy time at home.
What I do: I provide both in-person and virtual counseling.
